Do you wonder what are you supposed to be doing in this phase of your life? What’s your “divine assignment”? If you’ve been banging your head against the wall, you lost your job, or if things just seem to be taking too long, chances are you’re not in the right place….yet.
I remember when I was going in circles for what seemed like eternity. What I didn’t realize was that something magical happens when I drum. I feel completely different and so do others who join me. I’m told I totally light up when I drum, or even talk about drumming. When you’re passionate about something, it’s contagious. What began as a hobby became a business.
It’s generally something that makes you lose all track of time and that you would do even if you didn’t get paid. When your passion intersects with your mission, you’ve found your divine assignment.
Do you have a dream that you’ve been holding onto for a while? I’ve met people who are slaving away at day jobs that they hate but wish they could do what they love.
I’ve asked them how long they’ve held onto their dream. When they say 20 or 30 years, it just breaks my heart. What are you waiting for?! When are you going to finally just say: “Why the heck not?!”
How dreams become reality
If you don’t move forward with your dream or big idea, guess what? God gives it to someone else who will take it and run with it. If you say “But I’m just an artist (musician, writer, etc.). What I do isn’t important. People don’t really need it. It’s just an extra frill.”
Well, guess what? You need it. It’s part of your spirit and soul. It may be what you were born to do. You are enriching people’s lives and lifting their spirits with your gifts.
Don’t die with that dream inside of you! Start mapping out:
1) What you need
2) Who you need
3) When you will start
Once you set a time frame, it makes it seem more real. You don’t need to know all the steps. Just start!
