What’s love got to do with your career or your business? I’m not talking about being in love with someone. I’m talking about 5 different conditions that can really influence personal success and fulfillment.
1) Being in love with your business or career
2) Being in love with your dream and your cause
3) Loving the people you serve
4) Loving yourself
5) Having a loving, spiritual connection
As with any relationship, whether it’s romantic, platonic, or business-related, you need to nurture it. Are you like the friend or spouse who half-listens during a conversation or are you fully engaged? Do you love what you’re doing or are you just going through the motions? Yes, there are plenty of musical references in this post. See how many you recognize!
Groove is in the heart
If you’re just phoning it in or resisting, you may need to investigate why. Why aren’t you more invested and engaged? What I’ve discovered working with coaching clients is that some can’t move forward because something happened that broke their heart. Most weren’t relationship issues. These were disappointments, setbacks, and betrayals that happened in their jobs, businesses, or careers. Others lost a spouse or significant other to divorce or death.
These issues affect your personal rhythm and cause you to lose your groove. Therapeutic drumming or drum healing can really help with this, especially if it’s combined with coaching. You may just need to find your way back to love.
All you need is love
Well, it’s not all you need but it’s a good start. What can you do to show love to your clients, fans, or employees? Here’s a hint: Connection and appreciation go a long way.
How about you? Are you taking time to rest and recharge? Try taking some time off to pamper yourself or do something creative or fun. It doesn’t have to be a vacation, necessarily. You can do these things on your lunch hour or on weekends.
In order to show love, you may need to forgive. Who do you need to forgive to move forward? Maybe that person is you.
Connection with the Divine or a higher power can help you heal and move forward. It can also help you see that it’s not about you. You were given your gifts for a reason. You need to use them to bless others. I didn’t realize this when I was in my 20’s and trying to climb the corporate ladder. With age comes wisdom, as they say. If you’re feeling down or depressed, reach out and help someone else. It can help you both and create a ripple effect.
The power of love
Success isn’t always about making more money. If more people loved what they do and shared that love with others, the world would be a much happier place.
