Types of classes and workshops:
Special needs classes: Boosts coordination, listening skills, cooperation, self-esteem, and reduces stress, and ADD/ADHD issues.
Seniors: Classes for the 55+ crowd! It’s a blast! Boosts clarity, healing, coordination, cognitive function, and creates a sense of community. It also burns calories and boosts the immune system!
Corporate events: Drumming is a great ice-breaker activity! It’s also a great addition to a company’s health and wellness offerings, or as a team-building activity.
Schools: Who wouldn’t want to whack on a drum or shake a shaker or tambourine?! Special programs for students, teachers, at-risk students, etc. Great at exam time, during a teacher work day, or as a fun surprise! Can be combined with an inspirational talk or with ADD/ADD training. Click this link for a list of my speaking topics.
Churches: Drumming from a Christian perspective. Classes or workshops can be combined with a theme, a talk, or with scripture references. Great motivation, encouragement, and fun for church groups, retreats, or conferences! I not only play in the band at my church but I also have training in Christian counseling and I’m an experienced speaker and best-selling author with a very strong testimony.
Non-profits: Classes, workshops, or special events. Have drums, will travel. Great for stress relief, healing, and for at-risk populations. This is all part of my drumming ministry. Also have empowerment programs for women and kids. Presently seeking sponsors to help fund some of these programs or for individual scholarships.
I’m a Certified Drum Therapist with the world-wide program Drums and Disabilties, I have trained with internationally-known Health Rhythms (developed by neurologist Dr. Barry Bittman, along with Remo Drums), African drummer Onye Onyemaechi, and the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Dori has an amazing ability to capture the minds and hearts of young people! I had Dori bring her talents to a group of at-risk youth who were living in some very challenging circumstances. She was able to get their attention and get them working together in a weekly drumming session. By helping them to get focused and to relieve some stress, we were better able to work with them in the entrepreneurial projects they were working on. The kids looked forward to Dori’s sessions, and we were delighted to work with her. ~ Sheyenne Kreamer,Triangle Solutions Alliance, Raleigh, NC
Dori’s personal success story is only exceeded by her ability to help others release their own story! Drumming is one of those experiences most people never think about, and those who do often procrastinate about making an appointment out of the fear of the unknown. I was one of those! I have known and respected Dori for many years, but it wasn’t until I attended one of her free classes that I realized the true potential of drumming in my own life, and found the courage to hire her personally to help me prepare for the 40th Anniversary of my business. Dori uses drums to facilitate the power of God to release, heal, and empower. Thank you, Dori! ~ Barbara Hemphill, President, Productive Environment Institute, Raleigh, NC
