Feeling stressed out? Are you trying to balance work, family, and the holidays? Here’s a suggestion: Time to get in touch with your inner child!
Why? Because kids know how to have fun! They take joy in even the simplest things. They are full of wonder and creativity. Have you lost yours?
Cure for the overwhelm
To be creative, you have to be a little childlike and spontaneous. My husband has gotten used to me stopping to take pictures of sunsets and beautiful scenery. “Wait, stop! Look at that!” I have to stop and get the shot. I just use my cell phone but I’ve gotten some great photos. Many I’ve turned into memes.
Being a drummer and a grandma also gives me plenty of opportunities to have fun and be silly. So, here’s my advice: Give yourself permission to take little breaks do something fun or out of the ordinary. Your inner child will thank you. Here are seven fun activities to help you beat stress, boost your creativity, and enjoy the holidays. Your assignment is to select at least two.
Enjoy the moment
Take some time this holiday season to stop and enjoy what’s around you. It’s a season of hope, of wonder, of joy, and celebration. Be blessed, not stressed. Don’t forget the reason for the season.
